Its been almost a year (October 17, 2014) that Google ran the Penguin update. Though the roll out was supposed to be a slow one, the impact left many sites high and dry.
The search engine ran the October 2014 update to help sites boost rankings who worked on their links. However, after the last refresh, Google hinted out saying that it doesn’t have any intention to run a Penguin update anytime soon.
Experts believe that Google doesn’t wish to run it without making necessary changes in its algorithm. The reason being most sites were negatively hit by the punitive algorithm.
Another theory is that if Google launches the new version that targets paid links and publishes unfair amount of guests posts, then it would directly impact sites of renowned brands. It would also mean search results become less relevant to the users
