Make New Friends with the Discover People Feature on Facebook

Facebook is taking the initiative to increase your friends circle. It has come up with a ‘Discover People’ feature that allows you to connect with people sharing similar interests.

Facebook rolled out this feature in New Zealand and Australia at the end of 2016 and will be gradually available to iOS and Android users.

How it works?

This feature would be housed in the ‘more’ menu in the Facebook’s navigation bar. When you click on ‘Discover People’, you must first update your profile.  You will then need to select people from the series of user profiles to connect with.  It shows you list based on your location and similar interests.

Some may even call the feature a dating-like app. However, Facebook has claimed that the ‘Discover People’ feature is more about connecting with people you don’t know or have not met. You can even use it to know someone better!

The feature is now available for few users. When it is successful, Facebook will roll out this feature to all subscribers.

Application of this feature:

For personal uses, you can expand your circle of friends or get to know people with similar interests. Users can keep in touch with their friends, relatives and make new friends via PC or smart phones. Facebook has over a billion subscribers worldwide. If your list of friends is empty, then this app would help you make new connections easily.
