Google: Penguin 4.0 Roll Out Is Now Complete!

Share :

Google’s Gary Illyes has confirmed that Penguin 4.0 is now active and has been fully incorporated into the search engine. He confirmed this on Twitter while responding to a follower’s query.  So if webmasters are still noticing spammy links pointing to their sites, they will have to do some cleaning to clear those links.

If your site has been hit by any of Penguin’s versions before and if you have made the necessary changes to the website, you are sure to see an impact on your site’s rankings. With Penguin 4.0, data is refreshed in real-time, so you will notice the changes much quickly.

The roll out which started out on September 23, 2016, is more granular in the sense that it “devalues spam by adjusting ranking based on spam signals, rather than affecting the ranking of the whole site.”

In the blog post, dated September 23, 2016, Gary pointed out that webmasters should focus on creating compelling and informative websites as “Penguin” is just one of 200 signals, Google uses to determine the website’s rank!
