Facebook’s messenger app has hit the 800 million active users mark which is up from 700 million 6 months ago. The social media giant’s Instagram also grew from 300 million users to 400 million in September.

David Marcus, VP of messaging products at Facebook said, “The Messenger team’s mission is to make Messenger the best place to communicate with all the people and businesses in the world. We believe we have so much more opportunity ahead of us, and these are still the early days of Messenger.”

He also said that he has more plans for Facebook this 2016. The company intent to enhance communication between businesses and users on Facebook. Users would be able to express themselves through stickers, photos, voice clips, videos, GIFs and video calls.

By the looks of things, it seems that in future, people will prefer to buy tickets or talk to customer service through a messenger app rather than turning to websites.
